Dr. Miriam Wheeler is licensed naturopathic physician in Arizona, and received her doctorate of naturopathic medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM).
Her passion lies in empowering patients to help them become the best possible version of themselves. She treats patients of all ages, but has a special interest in working with adults who are struggling with thyroid disorders, autoimmune conditions, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Wheeler takes the time to listen fully to her patients, and understands that people are more than just their symptoms. She advocates an individualized and patient-centered approach to treatment. She utilizes therapies that promote and restore health in a safe and effective manner. When possible, she emphasizes natural therapies that stimulate the body's innate ability to heal. She believes that this gentle, yet profound approach allows for recovery, along with a lowered predisposition to future illness.
Born and raised in Arizona, she received a bachelor's degree in nutritional sciences from University of Arizona in 2010. Upon graduation from SCNM in 2014, she completed three years of residency; two years in naturopathic family practice at SCNM’s Medical Center, followed by a one-year, highly competitive specialty residency in homeopathic medicine under the mentorship of the esteemed Stephen Messer, ND, DHANP.
Dr. Wheeler continues to train and supervise naturopathic medical students at SCNM and serves as adjunct faculty for the college. Dr. Wheeler also serves on the board for the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians (HANP) and is committed to promoting the practice of classical, Hahnemannian homeopathy by trained NDs. Dr. Wheeler has been published in American Journal of Homeopathic Medicine, The American Homeopath, and Homeopathy Today.
Dr. Wheeler maintains a private practice at Nourish Natural Medical Center, and looks forward to working with you.
